Those who are my following my blogs may conclude that I am such a foodie.  But to top it I have a sweet tooth.  I remember secretly finishing a pack of Goya (rectangle ones) in one-sitting when I was asked to storekeep the sari-sari store of my late grandmother ages ago, munching a series of Cloud 9 while playing during gradeschool, even Lala (which they call the chocolate for the poor) I indulged in, and of course my ever favorite Chocnut.

I am lucky because (a) despite the sweetaholic in me I am still blessed with healthy set of teeth, minus my tonsil vulnerability (b) I am still not diabetic (c) it’s a sweet life, yay!  I am generally a very disciplined person but my EQ is at risk when it comes to  chocolates.  I literally dreamed that I was living in a house made of chocolates, M & Ms in particular.  At some point I actually wished to be a factory worker in Serg’s, that was whenever we will pass by in its area (from Laguna going to Manila) and I never failed to savour the aroma of the chocolates in the air.

When I came here in UAE, my food exploration was consisted primarily of sweets adventure rather than of spicy and gulf exotic food.  Let me share some of my early favorites and not-so-likeable finds:

Guylian:  It is not a rare find.  Of course, who doesn’t know Guylian:  the world’s favorite Belgian chocolate.  It is just that I appreciate it more here because it is more reasonably priced here than in the Philippines.

Beez Kneez:  I tried this out of curiousity.  Story of bee hives, bee movie in my mind so I bought this.  This is manufactured from Australia and being imported here so I supposed there is some demand for it.  But ack!  Extremely sweet.  I actually wasted my money, I didn’t manage even the first piece after the first bite.

Cadburry Bournville:  A real dark chocolate which is bittersweet.  Just so-so.  Meiji black chocolate is still much better.

Ferrero Kinder:  I love, I love.  It is a better version of Kit Kat.  A must have when I go home for a vacation.

Schogetten:  This German chocolate has different flavors and capuccino is my favorite.  It comes in squarely pieces that are easy to munch that makes you feel (strategically) once you pop, you can’t stop (borrowed from Pringles).  I overly consumed these that I had a tonsillitis.

After Eight:  A friendly chocolate mint from Nestle in UK.  But tends to taste so ordinary when you consume daily.  Going to bring some when I go home for a vacation.
