My weekend buddy list screenshot.
As you probably can tell from the screenshot, running on real time, same time are my 4 gmail accounts, 2 yahoo accounts, 1 facebook profile, 2 gtalk (gmail chat) IDs, 1 facebook chat and 1 yahoo messenger ID. Automatic notification for these accounts, no need to log in for each one, 2 or more IDs can run simultaneously (how cool is that?!) - all these made possible through Digsby.
Too many? That’s what you call ‘monitoring mechanism’. I have a few friends doing the same. It’s like keeping a balance of anonymity in an honest and certain level. All these are typically running only during weekends. Sorry to my distant friends.
I’d like to maintain that only weekend chat policy. And as you can tell, I only have a few contacts.
With too many accounts, it’s such a pain to memorize different passwords. This time, I only have to log in once in my Digsby account.

I used to have a lot of accounts too, but then I just decided to delete most of them. I started getting confused with all the passwords. Now, I only have three e-mails, facebook, and friendster. I still think that’s a lot.

Pidgin (formerly gaim) is actually a more trusted im client of mine.

@Kayni: It’s really a pain to keep in mind several passwords. I think the number of accounts you’re keeping is reasonable. It’s close to thinking that mine is reasonable, too.

@Deuts: I had to google for Gaim. I’m so ignorant, hehe. It says Gaim is renamed to Pidgin. It’s only recently that I tried it.
