I was in highschool the first time I was told I’m older than my age (read: reasons/thinks/talks like 20+). It was that precious innocent state where our group JJBADMonicaryleia (first five letters were our first names’ initials and second part was the other three who ‘merged’ with us) was born. I’ve no idea if that type of group naming is still uso (in). I was then lending my ears and giving allegedly ‘wise’ pieces of advice, as if I’ve been through all that. I love to think about everything and it ’seemed’ I always have an answer (or sometimes a palusot) for any randomness. Ack! Isn’t that weird for a teener? The way I see it, positivity was the reason for all that. I love turning gray and blue into pink (happy color for a teener).
Fastforward. As I started working I occasionally got comments that I look younger than my age. Until I took this scientifically based real age test the other day. It’s an online test comprised of series of questions on health, habits, relationships, diet and fitness. You have to be patient and honest with your answers for the relatively accurate results. As I responsed to the questions, I already knew that I’ve been maintaining unreasonable and not-so-good habits particularly in my food consumption and having zero physical exercises. Not counting the ‘lazy’ walks, of course.
My real age test verdict: a freaking, screaming 38.7! That’s a material overstatement. I’m not even 30. The test enumerated the reasons what makes my ‘real age’, and I do agree with it. I don’t smoke, drink, not taking medicines, etc. I could have been declared ‘older’ if I do. I may retake the test after 90 days to track my progress. It’s a wake up call for me. Life is meant to be lived meaningfully, and so it goes that we are responsible to take care of ourselves. Let me borrow an old adage, “health is wealth”.

If we can keep our real age around 8 to 10 years YOUNGER, we are living right!

Hi Sir Jim, thanks for visiting the site. I’m aiming to retake the test after 90 days and hopefully the results would then match my biological age. Once I hit that, it would be a work-in-progress to keep my age 8 to 10 years younger. Big plan!
