Separate sort of chat with two of my good friends very recently.

Conversation # 1

Sya: Kumusta ang weekend?
Ako: Okay naman, inabot ako nang 6am sa pagbabasa.

Sya: Ano ba yang binabasa mo?

You know that feeling? After you watched a film, read a book, etc. Sort of an aftertaste. Last song syndrome (LSS), etc. Here’s my history:

After

  • Having a haircut: I feel I’m prettier (hahaha) or degraded, depends on the cut.
  • My hair was permed in 2006: I felt I transformed to a different person. Lady to a woman.  The curls were long gone.
  • My 3rd time in Bora: I’d still be back.
  • Riding Zyklon Loop: I thought I was dead.
  • Eating fried frogs: My burp tasted chicken-y.
  • Eating Kimchi: I think of Arthur Choi (of Coffee Prince)
  • Being in Starbucks: I think of my kaberks in the Philippines.
  • Eating black chocolate: I’m complete!

Who would have thought these (ages ago)?

  • Merrill Lynch would ever agree to sell itself last sunday to Bank of America for roughly US$ 50 billion to avert a deepening financial crisis; and
  • Lehman Brothers filed for bankruptcy protection and hurtled toward liquidation after failing to find a buyer.

Big surprises,
But that’s it,
Nothing is so certain,
Except for taxes, death & changes,
Rise & fall
10 years or so
of relationships dissolved
Pickin’ up the pieces
Random encounters

Ang mundo ay bilog

Time and again, I’d always say,
Life is beautiful no matter what,
Life is about taking chances,
(Almost) nothing is certain,
But one thing is for sure
Happily ever afters (will) do exist.

What’s your risk appetite?  Are you a risk-taker or you prefer to play safe?
