Eraserheads’ repeat concert this December?

I wanted to fly home when Eraserheads had a reunion concert last August 30. I wrote here how bewildered I was before, during, and after that one-night jam. Yesterday, I was informed by one of my closest friends (yes, the same person who is a fellow Twilighter, Bee Gees and Eraserheads fanatic. We’ve got much in common) that there are rumors that there might be another Eheads concert this December. I felt my heart jumped. But, I did hold out. Might be. I was told that Ely (Buendia) will have a phone interview with Magic 89.9 via Big Meal show today.

So at 2pm there in the Philippines (and 10am here), we were both all ears to the interview. It felt good that we were at the same page that time. We were both listening online.

Before the interview, Suzy (the host tasked to ask questions to Ely) was hyperventilating due to excitement. She exclaimed, “I can’t believe this is happening, that I would be talking to Ely! The guy who sung the soundtrack of my life!” Her co-host was complementing her excitement by being discreetly ecstatic. I jotted notes of the conversation and these transpired. (Note: I just paid huge attention to Ely’s verbatim).

Host: xx
Ely: Hello, guys!
Host: xx
Ely: The pleasure is mine.
Host: xx
Ely: I just woke up. I had a nice nap.
Host: xx
Ely: I’m doing very well. Just saw my doctor last week. I’m in good shape.
Host: xx
Ely: Going back to playing music. In two weeks time, I am joining Pupil in their gigs.
Host: After the August 30 concert, some parties were talking that there may be a repeat concert this December.
Ely: I really don’t know yet. If people approach, if people have good plans and good budget, definitely, I’m willing to do it. Kase, bitin din ako.
Host: xx (says she cried during the intro of Alapaap)
Ely: (Talked about Pupil and upcoming gigs)
Host: xx
Ely: Thank you guys for accommodating me.

The hosts were so ecstatic. They aired Alapaap, Ang Huling El Bimbo and few more songs of Eraserheads afterwards. Suzy claimed, “I’ll write this in my diary!” Haha. I totally know how she feels. It was a brief but nice phone interview.

If the concert will push through as rumored, I would be the luckiest (and my friend, too!) woman this December. Just in time for my vacation, eh. But I’m wide awake. I’ve computed the probability. And as of the balance sheet date, it’s remote. I’m hoping but not expecting. =)
