The buy 1 take 1 promo of HSBC is still ongoing.
Every minute of my most current Saturday seemed so precious. I had take-home office work meant to be sorted that day. But for some valid reasons, we had to drop by in Marina Mall to buy something. Since we were in, I insisted that we check Twilight movie’s screening schedule. Its international release is on November 21, to be shown in some countries a little late. However, screening for UAE is not in the site. The Cinema Officer claimed that still there’s no further announcement. It’s going to be shown, but not in their calendar yet. Just make sure, huh. It’s giving me worries, really. Please. Do.not.make.me.cry.
Incidentally, High School Musical 3 (HSM 3) was on its third day screening. The queue was more than for a box office. When I learned that it would be shown only for a week (ending this Wednesday), we decided last minute to catch it. So there, my Saturday became a little out of balance. As expected, I stayed so late for the paper work, with reasonable cramming on the side. Sometimes, it feels good to have your life out of direction.

It was the first time I saw a High School Musical film inside the cinema. The first two movies didn’t match my schedule (saw HSM 1 at home with a copycat DVD, HSM 2 during my flight coming here). There’s nothing incredible in the storyline of HSM 3. If you’ve seen the prequels, what happened was just as expected. Except that this one looked like granted a bigger production budget, more visually appealing, new songs, and with more mature scenes since they’re now in their senior year.
However, I enjoyed seeing this film primarily because of the type of moviegoers I was with. At the ticket booth, I just knew that those teeners are more or less followers of HSM. Their hair, dress, total get-up resemble Gabriella’s and Sharpay’s (looks like I forgot to check the boys?). When the movie started, majority clapped. I actually thought I was in a concert. As it progressed, I realized that it’s one of a kind experience to have been watching this with a combination of not-so and ultraconservative teens/people and alike (uhum, which is my category? I’m a combination, maybe).
(I don’t mean much spoilers). When Gabriella and Troy were at the tree house, someone from inside the cinema exclaimed, “Oh, Twoooooooooooy! You’re so cute!” And so I initially assumed that the majority of teeners with me then we’re at the same page. Until the scene came when Gabriella and Troy shared a single piece of strawberry (with Gabriella the first to bite) while discreetly picnicking over a box of margarita pizza, a number of girls and boys shouted, “that’s eeeeeew!” Haha. Really? I actually found that cute. And when Troy (in his tuxedo) kissed Gabriella, well, you couldn’t imagine how the kids, errr, boys and girls got wild! The reactions in between the scenes made my peeking more enjoyable.
I normally get irritated when someone is so talky while screening is on. But this is one right combination of moviegoers that I absolutely loved. Looks like East meets West. I’d love to see and hear the reaction of these same audience when I finally (hopefully) see Twilight movie.
Go and see HSM 3. It’s one movie that would play happy thoughts in your mind and will paste in you a cheerful face after seeing it. I sure hoped that my high school graduation was that cool and playful. Now what’s next, College Musical?

“Sometimes, it feels good to have your life out of direction.”
Very true. My life has been so very very boring lately. The monotony of everyday married chores and responsibilities. I am very very envious of your situation of being able to do whatever pleases you anytime and anywhere. Enjoy your freedom while you still have them.

But commitment is rewarding and challenging.
Sometimes we tend to see life monotonous, depending on one’s point. You might want to check this:

I think that would still be in the cinemas that time. They normally have longer play dates there. Especially that HSM 3 would definitely be a hit. Enjoy Shanghai and take care.

The movie was good…I enjoyed watching it. I guess it’s something that not the average adult but watch. But it’s sometimes nice to watch a feel-good teen flick. Diba?

Not really a film festival. Just a promo from HSBC Mid East. It did tie up with CineStar, for a buy 1 take 1 movie ticket promo. A pretty deal. Ongoing till January next year.

Being out of direction is exciting, only if happening occasionally.
Sometimes I’m trying to do sweet escape from reality. Deferring decisions, letting fate to take its course. Heehee. I liked Hairspray.
Just saw that in a copycat DVD when I was still in the Philippines. Even if that was not a clear copy, I still enjoyed the film.

Seeing the movie tickets up top was like a blast from the past. When i was still living in Dubai, not a week would pass without me going to the movies and i used to collect the tickets, haha. My favorite cinema is the one in Deira City Centre, love the nachos!

Im based in Abu Dhabi and I love CineStar in Marina Mall. Not really collecting the tickets, just taking photos of them. I was in Deira City Centre the other weekend. The cinema there looks gorgeous.
