How do you decide on where to eat? In my case, as much as possible I want to try new stuff. That includes preference of not copying my companion’s choice. Or if he or she copies, I’ll change mine. In case we’re dining at the same spot, I’d more likely try a dish that I’ve never eaten yet. So you can bet that I would dine somewhere just because I want to check it.

But naturally, I would also consider who I’m with and the main reason for eating out. There are places where you want to check just to enjoy eating, those that you go in because it’s a good place for talks, and those which are combination of both.

I have long embraced that T.G.I.F. is not applicable here. In UAE, working week starts on a sunday and ends on thursdays. During my first month here, I used to say, “see you on monday!”, instead of sunday. In a way it used to made me feel benefited to think that I am resting during fridays while the rest out there are working. But pouting whenever I would realize it’s a 360-degree turn during sundays. That I am alone in the field and the people I love in the Philippines and those out there are savouring sunday. Psychology, eh? =)

It’s thursday again. We’ll be pigging out tonight since four of my office pals are throwing a solidary celebration. Bowling all night will follow soon after dinner.

What’s the picture of your friday night and/or weekend? Have fun and be good, everyone!

John: Hit me with the quick fixes. I’m excited about what you are telling me. But I’m an impatient guy.
Julian: Ironically, the less you focus on the end result, the quicker it will come.
John: How so?
Julian: (tells a story)

There was a young boy who traveled far from his home to study under a great teacher. When he met the wise old man, his first question was “how long will it take me before I am as wise as you?”

I wanted to fly home when Eraserheads had a reunion concert last August 30. I wrote here how bewildered I was before, during, and after that one-night jam. Yesterday, I was informed by one of my closest friends (yes, the same person who is a fellow Twilighter, Bee Gees and Eraserheads fanatic. We’ve got much in common) that there are rumors that there might be another Eheads concert this December. I felt my heart jumped. But, I did hold out. Might be. I was told that Ely (Buendia) will have a phone interview with Magic 89.9 via Big Meal show today.

So at 2pm there in the Philippines (and 10am here), we were both all ears to the interview. It felt good that we were at the same page that time. We were both listening online.
