I’m back to work. That meant going back to reality. That includes a) saying goodbye to my non-work indulgement the previous days; b) transferring to a new office; I was previously sharing the space with the IT Officer, now they want me to sit with the Legal Counsel (LC). Okay. Exciting; and c) hello to normal eating schedule. Ramadan is over so I am back to carrying chocolates in my bag. I just had cereals for breakfast today since there’ll be lunch on time anyway.

quoran

When I decided to come here, I was prepared to embrace the adjustment of being in an Arab country.  I had a little adjustment than expected since this is an open city.  That means we can dress freely (but I would say that to bare some flesh is “at your own risk basis”, no one will harm you except that the guys will be all eyes on you) and there’s no debate on faith and religion. sept creative swap from japan

I got my first creative swap goodies early this week.  It’s been ages since I got a non-work related package/snail mail.  I was so delighted.  Moreso, when I learned that it was from the Creative Swap’s host.  I was with some of my closest office pals when I opened the package.  I felt like a celebrity that moment.  They were so curious about the contents.  I still remember how amused they were when I said that I joined an online creative swap.  They exclaimed, “you still have the time?”, “oh, I think my life is boring.  I should be doing something unusual, too”, etc.

Caryn made a bracelet for me which I really, really liked.  I even wore it that day even if it didn’t match my dark brown suit.  I was feeling fashionista.  I’ve never cling any dangling pairs since I came here.  So, I’ll try the earrings this weekend.  I’m still sorting a topper to match it.  I intend to wear the necklace when we go to Desert Safari.
