philippine bracelet

Bought the bracelet (for my personal consumption) in a souvenir shop in Abu Dhabi a week ago while scouting for additional last minute pasalubongs.

By the time this post gets published*, I’m probably recovering from lack of sleep due to my sidetrip the past few days. I badly need to get recharged, err, re-energized. My whirlwind scheduled (and definitely the unscheduled ones) activities will officially start tomorrow.

I’m not particularly in Manila right now. But I’ve been playing this song in my head and is in my playlist the past weeks. I’ve never really appreciated this one before, I used to find it baduy. But believe me, once you’re based abroad and you heard this out of nowhere, you can have goosebumps + joy + cute homesickness.

*last of the three posts that I drafted (before leaving Abu Dhabi) to be published as scheduled

My bags while dusting off few days ago

I am generally a practical person. But I admit that I am very fond of bags to a reasonable extent. I hope so. Incidentally, my fondness for bags is more prominent than my liking for shoes and clothes. When I came to Abu Dhabi, I brought only a few pieces of bag. Eventually, there was an occasional addition to the ‘family’. These are some of those that I frequently use on a ‘whichever is applicable basis’.

December 11 Dubai and Hongkong snapshots

December 11 snapshots

I had roamed in and around Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon few hours ago. It’s good to be in the center of entertainment, shopping, and financial district. It’s near to almost everything and anything.  As depicted in some of the most current snapshots:

(a) In Kowloon, literally the night is so young.  I feel so at home.  The moment I stepped in the Immigration I felt like I belong here. Heehee.  Maybe, because sometimes I look like them.  Just sometimes.

December Sidetrip
Taken few days ago while sorting out which to pack

Finally, I’m on a vacation. Hopefully, I was able to tie all loose ends on and off-work. I left Dubai airport at 1:00 AM, Thursday and I’m probably still in the plane the moment this draft gets published. I didn’t leave via Abu Dhabi airport because I’m taking a sidetrip before going home. I’ll have four nights stop over to chill out before hitting Manila on pre-midnight of 15th December. Just in time for the simbang gabi (pre-dawn mass). Yum!

As an aside, I’d like to thank the person who got me in the ongoing Pinoy Expats/OFW Blog Awards. Thanks, too, to those who took time to mention this in their respective blogs (BlogusVox and upto6only) and to those who did cast their votes for me. All these mean a lot. I’ve really been quiet about this/never mentioned about this. That I forgot to ‘campaign’. ;) Truth is, the nomination is more than enough. If you have time, you may check the nominees and vote here, three of which I periodically visit: The Sandbox, Sari Saring Kulay and Sleepless in KL.

I’ll be quasi-away (I might be online in between to check some mails) for the mean time. Take care, everyone.
