Why women love shoes

jellies a
(Lacoste jelly shoes available in these colors, also in light blue and yellow)

When buying tops, I sometimes get torn with the colors. I would end up buying two the same day. I never thought it would go beyond that. I bought the pink pair (as shown above) first. That day I equally liked the white one, but dismissed the idea. How to combat impulsive buying and know if you absolutely like the thing? Normally, I go for a two-week test or more as applicable. If it kept bugging me (and haunted me in my dreams, hahaha) while unintentionally thinking about it, the bell rings. So I got the other pair weeks later. I absolutely have a happy feet as summer kicks off.

Why do women love shoes? Don’t ask the former first lady about imeldification. Remember the time of our christening/baptism? We wore a different pair in the church, in the reception, and in the house.

I’m sure you do have your own explanation.

never tried buying 2 same shoes in a day. I usually buy one but in case i find another one (not the same as the one i bought already) i will buy it. I just love wearing shoes especially pointed and high-heeled ones.

    nice shoes!!! :) me likey!

why do we love shoes? it’s easier to buy shoes than tops.. size is just a minimal issue. there’s no hassle (and embarassment) looking for XL, XXL, or XXXL :)

    your shoes are lovely!

i love them too and i want them too!

whenever i see new pairs that caught my eye, it’s like i’m glued forever. i don’t know what’s the reason behind it but just like you, it would keep on haunting me even on my dreams. when in a shoe shop, my hubby keeps on reminding me that i have so many pairs already cluttered in our room, so i strive not to look. but there are times that i keep on talking about “a woman can’t have too many shoes”. hubby gets guilty and escorts me again back to the shop. very manipulating!

but i haven’t tried buying the same one in two different colors. i’ve done that on tops though. :)

cool shoes but i’m not sure if i’d like to wear those. i was at crocs the other night, psyching up myself for a pair of red slip-ons. i’m happy i was able to walk away without buying a pair (i don’t like crocs, too industrial:D). i bought 3-4 pairs of shoes in a day, especially when they’re on sale.:D it’s probably in every female DNA, the love for shoes—we can’t help it.

I read somewhere that the reason why we, women, love shoes is because, unlike clothes, they do not make us look fat.

    Sounds right, huh?

    What do you think, Jo?

Those shoes look yummy! My favorite shoes are these brown ballet flats with Vermeer’s The Girl With A Pearl Earring painted on them. I rarely wear them, because they’re so special. Shoes are just another means of self-expression for women, so I guess the more pairs you have, the crazier you are! (You and I have lots! Hehe.) ;)

LOL on imeldification :) Has this been officially recognized by Webster? ;)

Women love to have shoes to match their clothes. That’s why they have a bunch of them. As for men, well as long as we have something to step on, ayos na hehe :)

  24. witsandnuts says: April 21, 20095:40 am

I’m relieved! I thought I was only one buying tops with the same color, on the same day. ;)

With regard to the shoes, this was the first time (hope this won’t happen again). At least I didn’t get the two pairs the same day. As if that made a difference! Being defensive, heehee.

  25. witsandnuts says: April 21, 20095:44 am

I liked the DNA theory! I was particularly looking for a pair for this coming summer, so these very comfy jelly shoes saved the day. I also liked Adidas’ snow skimmer.

  26. witsandnuts says: April 21, 20095:45 am

Thanks. I got torn by the colors.

  27. witsandnuts says: April 21, 20095:47 am

At least I didn’t buy this the same day. Hahaha. Kunyari nagtiis pa ng ilang weeks. You’re one of the people who first comes to my mind when I think of fondness for shoes. Elegant shoes, in particular.

  28. witsandnuts says: April 21, 20095:48 am

True that! Less complicated (and embarrassing) when it comes to finding the size. ;)

  29. witsandnuts says: April 21, 20095:54 am

Me, too! I just didn’t want to mention in this post that aside from these jellies, I bought rubber shoes from the same store. I don’t know why (or I know why? heehee) but shoes are magnetic.

  30. witsandnuts says: April 21, 20097:25 am

Maybe you already got all those which are tempting enough for you. :)

  31. witsandnuts says: April 21, 20097:25 am

I think I read something like that before. That women love shoes because unlike clothes, whether we gain or lose weight they’d still fit. And for those who have weight problems they tend to offset the limitation in availability of good dresses by nice shoes (and bags). :)

  32. witsandnuts says: April 21, 20097:30 am

Heehee. I’ve actually googled/researched for possible reasons. Only to come up with a general explanation that “it’s a girl’s thing”. Hence, I preferred my favorite self-assessed theory that “it’s inherent” and that it’s introduced/unleashed as early as the day of baptism/christening. Like there’s an ideal pair of shoes for every occasion/place. ;)

  33. witsandnuts says: April 23, 20096:32 am

To get rid of confusion, buy both. Hahaha. But I try to avoid that habit as much as possible. Nakakalito talaga minsan.

  34. witsandnuts says: April 23, 20096:34 am

I agree. Women’s shoes are generally cheaper than men’s.

  35. witsandnuts says: April 23, 20096:35 am

Hey, would you believe I’m like that when it comes to (black) office shoes. I maintain two pairs for the similar style.

  36. witsandnuts says: April 23, 20096:37 am

I googled about it. That sure looks very special!

  37. witsandnuts says: April 23, 20096:38 am
