7 dwarfs

I’m not a huge fan of fairy tales but when I visited Disneyland in Hong Kong and met the characters in flesh, I became childlike and a number of tales flashed instantly.  During the parade, I was more interested with the 7 dwarves than Snow White. :-D   But you’ll notice, as I did also as I checked my archive of Hong Kong photos, there are at most 6 dwarves on all my snaps.  It turned out that during the parade, one of them was always few steps ahead.

Download all you can

by witsandnuts on July 27, 2009

world ebook fair

I’m currently reading The Adventure of Sherlock Homes (free ebook) through my mobile. I wanted to download other titles from the Apps Store but there’s a cost involved. Why spend when you can get it for free? So I’m a happy soul when I learned about the 4th Annual eBook Fair. Since July 4, free access to 2 million titles of ebooks was made possible. This is one of the things that consumed my weekend.

Not everyone is a fan of ebooks. Of course, it’s still better to have the real book. But in case you are or anyone you know is interested, free download is still available until August 4.

I’m going gaga I don’t know which one to get first. Lol. Shop (read: download) till you drop!

Hankook Korean Restaurant

by witsandnuts on July 26, 2009

hankook 6

I was never interested to try Korean food until I became so hooked to Coffee Prince. It was one of the phenomenal series which was tagalized for primetime few weeks before I left for Abu Dhabi. So I resorted to getting a copycat DVD and did a marathon few days before my flight. I still can’t believe that I sacrificed my sleep and prioritized this over more important things that time. I even copied the video to an external drive and brought it here (and have no plans of deleting it). :-D

So, I was a happy soul and tummy when one of my despedidas was held in Kaya Korean Restaurant. I was particularly looking forward to try kimchi that night. You can just imagine how much influence Andy Go (or was it Arthur Choi? heehee, although it was Andy who was always feasting on kimchi), one of the main characters in Coffee Prince, had in me. Since I was in a gastronomical transition, one of my priorities was to find a Korean Restaurant in Abu Dhabi. Unluckily, they were hiding from me. Googling didn’t help much, neither the Abu Dhabi Eating Out book that I bought. Thanks to this babyshower organized for a friend-officemate. The sole Korean Restaurant in Abu Dhabi came out.

God’s trying to tell me something

by witsandnuts on July 26, 2009

I’m supposed to blog about something else but I thought this one’s worthsharing.

Only a few are aware that I reactivated my dormant Facebook account primarily to play Farm Town. Haha. Sure, it offers gazillion of applications so I took some, e.g. Twilight quiz declaring that I’m a Twilight nerd. So I recently took another one but I didn’t publish it because I hardly understood the message, or maybe I was in denial. Lol. In particular, I clicked on What God Wants You To Know out of curiosity. It says,

You are what you eat.

Food you eat becomes you, so take a good look at the food in front of you, – is this what you want to call yourSelf? What kind of food deserves to be called by your name?

Five days passed and I forgot about that message. Then, I plurked this morning about fresh orange juice (I normally take one before the work kicks off):

plurk july 26

A few minutes after that plurk, I checked new feeds from my favorite blogs via Google Reader. This one from Zen Habits struck me:

3 Ways To Enhance Your Willpower:

*Anticipate and plan for your times of low self-control
*Exercise your willpower muscle to get more of it
*Drink some ORANGE JUICE. It turns out that glucose is one of the key ingredients that your brain needs for effective self-control. Willpower. It’s not just for breakfast anymore!

Call it coincidence. I sometimes do and do not believe in signs. But it’s really a matter of how you look into things. Moral of the story: drink orange juice, preferably fresh. :-D Seriously, I know you’re getting my point, i.e. refer to the title (wink).

What does this mean?
(a) Drink orange juice everyday
(b) I am what I eat, so I should stop eating hog’s meat. Or else I’ll be figuratively or literally become a pig. Lol.
(c) Willpower rocks and nurture it
(d) I should re-plant orange trees in my farm (in Farm Town) because I sold them and instead retained the coconut, plum, cherries, lemon and mango trees.
(e) All of the above
(f) None of the above
(g) What else?

Have a great week ahead.
