To whisper a dream

burj al arab

(Burj Al Arab. Taken in June 2009 while we were driving around Jumeira)

“Dreams are made for those who really try…”
(Bee Gees’ Don’t Throw It All Away)

Would you know what’s one of my biggest dreams? One which is not as grand and high as Burj Al Arab in Dubai (the second tallest building in the world), but is one of the most heartwarming childhood desires of my heart. To write a book about my clan, which will begin with a sort of family tree (this page alone will take time to get validated and perfected), including trivial and significant stories about each person. I remember how some information were being transferred by my great grandparents as relayed by their great, great, grandparents and how we continue to preserve these through generations, with the occurrence of new stories. To include things which only a few members of the family know, the scandals, who brought shame and fame to the clan, and hidden fortune (LOL, I’m just trying to humour all of you of course! Don’t take that part too seriously, haha.). To get the book (privately) published and for distribution to selected family members only.

This is my entry to Little Ms. Firefly’s Final Anniversary Giveaway.

I’m also holding a contest. Thanks to those who have already submitted their entries to my birthday/blogoversary contest. You may still send your entry until July 19, 2009, Sunday.

Kidding aside, as early as I can remember I have been developing characters and plots, di nga lang matuloy tuloy. I’m sure I have written down some of my plotlines and character descriptions somewhere :)

I think that’s a very practical project that your descendants/clan will appreciate…an instant heirloom!

I’m curious, do they have Burj Al Arab postcards over there? :P

I suggest starting right away. Kahit hindi pa comprehensive, kahit small bits lang. Minsan kasi yung small bits na yun pa ang nakakatuwa at importante.

The Burj Dubai is a modern marvel of engineering it stands at 818 metres tall. The Burj Dubai will have its grand opening on the 1st of December this year.

Joke lang yung scandals, hahaha! I remember drafting the family tree before for my scrapbook (high school project). =)

Yes. Sobrang close kase ako sa (late) grandmother ko. Bata pa lang ako ang dami ng information na na-relay. Medyo napapagod nako acting as Lola Basyang sa pagkkwento sa mga youngsters. Heehee, joke! But I really hope to do something, at least close to this dream, in the future.

I’ve started last year through some scribbling on a Moleskine. There’s no continuity in it yet, ang hirap buuin parang puzzle.

Hahaha, no, hindi sya for commercial purpose. Within the clan lang. Pero papahiramin kita ng copy. =)
