Just in case you haven’t read yet, here’s one of the sensible articles (from Time Magazine) that came right after typhoon Ondoy hit the Philippines, The Manila Floods, Why Wasn’t The City Prepared?. Further, here’s a film by Yann Arthus Bertrand, a photographer and environmentalist, about the dangers of human activities that create to planet earth. You may view the entire film here. The illustration above is just too awesome. Made by a 22-year old freelance graphic designer Mark Gosingtian. Is there a shirt coming? I would like to have one.

Ondoy has brought much TWOgetherness among Filipinos, wherever we are. Prayers can really move mountains and typhoons that Pepeng changed its course in a way, that it didn’t come exactly as predicted. We sometimes love the fact that PAGASA is at times not that accurate, on a beneficial fail.

i remember hearing a scientific prediction on TV back in the philippines that manila would be totally under sea level sometime in the future. this calamity, however, was a sudden wake-up call that the future can be sooner than we thought.
