Don’t worry, no spoiler here.
I was too excited to watch 2012 (out of curiosity) and I did yesterday.
Had I known that the script would be corny (that is the other way of saying it is a little silly), I should have not watched in the cinema.
It is a 160-minute (almost 3 hours) film, that I think could have been better had it been shortened. The impression it left me is like it is a consolidated and chop-chopped scenes of disasters alike, tried hard to match all the sides, but did not make much impact in the end.
Albeit some cheesy (I shed a tear, heehee) and predictable scenes (you don’t want spoilers eh?), I have been entertained by the remarkable special effects (amazing!). For that reason, I am glad I watched it on big screen.

same sentiments here… I found it too long and kinda cheesy. =\ It was really a little bit scary to see a lot of really familiar places destroyed. Plus, I had this idea na mukhang no Filipino was saved. Hehehe.

Haha, I remember that line wherein Adrian asked the basis of selection of what/who’s going to be “saved” through the spaceship. They have identified important species daw. Naghanap ako nang mukhang Pinoy. Pero wala, hehee. Species selection aside, if someone wants to be saved, he/she should have at least 1 billion euro to secure a seat. Grabe, survival of (financially) fittest + the influence. Altered Noah’s ark period ang dating.
buti ka pa napanood mo na. my wife doesn’t want to join me in watching this. she’s scared of end-of-the-world-movies. ..paranoid?! hehehe…i’m just curious of how fine the effects are.
i’ll probably wait for a dvd copy.

Hmm, I’ve seen the “thriller” and I’m going to see this because of the special effects. IMO, if there’s going to be a natural world wide upheaval, its going to be in the form of super typhoons, draught, volcanic eruption, tsunamis and yes earthquake (but not of that magnitude). From what i’ve seen, it seems the earth’s tectonic plates are disengaging from one another.

Hmmm… I had a feeling the storyline would fall short of viewers’ expectations but I’d still watch it just for the special effects extravaganza.

Whenever a movie interests mo, I google it. Parang maganda nga ang 2012. Your post is no spoiler dahil nabasa ko rin sa imdb.com about the movie. Sabi nga dun, people were laughing daw at the goofs of the movie. May nakuha nga akong 2012: Supernova and I thought iyon ung 2012. Hindi pala. 2012: Supercorny pala. Mas pangit pa siguro sa 2012 na napanood mo.
By the way, what’s with 2012? Why are they claiming na end of the world na ang 2012? Hmmm…

Oh, that’s too bad. It did seem like a promising movie. Hollywood seems to go for special effects more than a good script nowadays.

I look forward to seeing the movie 2012? this weekend. The CGI looked great. Maybe the story and acting won’t be up to par for everyone but the 6 bucks I’ll be paying for the matinee…. well… I think it will be well worth the price for the big special effects alone.
