How do you solve a perfect puzzle?
Dubai Police made this remarkable piece of documentation of its theory about one of the biggest stories in the UAE right now: the murder of Palestinian commander in one of the hotels in Dubai. It is a so-called highly sophisticated crime because it was perfectly executed by arrival of suspects (from different countries) at varied and strategized times to Dubai Airport, checking into different hotel rooms, meeting in shopping malls, wearing disguised looks, reprogramming of entry to the hotel room, and using an advanced communications instruments that during their conversations they used encrypted messages.
See how the closed circuit cameras helped the Dubai Police to name the suspects in 24 hours after the discovery of the victim’s death. A natural death as it seemed was not the real case.
The suspects include six British nationals, one French, one German and three Irish nationals, including one woman. The list was officially publicized yesterday. How quick they are to solve this case, eh?
Until today, it was confirmed that the suspects travelled to Dubai on fake passports. And Israel’s in the dock over fake passports.
What a strategy. How smart. I hope knowledge has been used only in good faith.
How do you solve a puzzle like this?
Update: 25 February 2010 – There are now 26 suspects. Click here to see how they are connected.

i read somewhere that criminals have also lost some sort of “prestige” or the art of crime. they have merely become brutes, lacking intelligence or the use thereof. but this one really seemed well-thought of.

Fascinating story. Straight out of the movies, as one commenter said. 24 hours? That’s pretty fast. The suspects are probably surprised they’ve been identified so quickly.

only proves that criminal minds are really geniuses but with bad intentions. and the machinery they have… funding, the passports, the tech and know-how, parang straight out of a novel diba? this is really fascinating!

Wow thanks for providing a backgrounder on this very fascinating case! It reminds me of the movie “Eagle Eye” where a supercomputer was programmed to eavesdrop on the populace. So intriguing! hehe

I saw this on TV. Kudos to an impressive detective work but what’s more amazing is the movie-like precision of the assassins. This just shows how foreign governments will go so far as to kill their enemies.

tsk tsk. galing talaga ng mga Zionists na ito. They are strictly following Sun Tzu’s Art of War =)
I read an article once that these Mossads brag to have more Farsi speaking agents than CIA. that they are more sophisticated agents in any manner. maybe there’s no stopping them now.
i wonder what is Obama’s colorful words for them =) Truman once said “Jesus Christ could not please them when He was here. How am I to do better?”

in movies, these scenes are gripping, entertaining. but in reality, i’m just glad i’m a simple law abiding citizen.

Good jog by the police. closed circuit cameras are the name of the game these days. They say in the city of London there are thousands of them installed – in every corner of the streets !

I could only agree to most comments here that it’s a scene straight from a movie. Kinda cloak and dagger! Parang Tom Clancy-type of operation.
