Champorado at dilis, anytime

champorado at dilis

I had a fresh from the fridge chocolate rice porridge (champorado) with milk in it and dried anchovies sent from home (dilis) for today’s dinner. I set the AC to the max, enough for me to chill. It’s best to eat this perfect sugary and salty combo when it’s cold/rainy. Yes, mind over matter. As they say, dilis is Pinoy’s french fries so you should eat it with a hand.

PS. Excuse the vase (a coconut milk bottle). I actually don’t have a decent vase because I don’t maintain fresh flowers on a regular basis. Those are Valentine’s left overs. It’s good that I realized to replace the vase before taking a photo, otherwise I’m at the risk of being found out that I made my previous company’s mug as temporary vase. ;)

Have you tried the champorado and dilis combo? If not, you’re missing a lot.

kami naman champorado and tuyo; hinihimay yung tuyo tapos sprinkle on top of the champorado kaya every subo may tuyo at champorado.

I haven’t tried the sprinkling style. I’ll do next time. Parang sprinkling ng tinapa sa palabok. :-D

I can’t help but comment. :) It’s my eternal fave, champorado. I most love it with sapsap, one kind of dried fish.

Thanks for dropping by. I like sapsap, too. I was trying to leave a comment to your trip to Naga post, but I encountered errors.

Btw, the last time I went to Naga was pre-construction of SM. It was opposed by most of the businessmen then. Thinking that it would kill their businesses. Aside from Bigsby’s, I liked Chilli Peppers, too. The latter is a little far from poblacion.

Actually, I’m a frequent reader of your blog. :) Thanks for dropping by at my blog too.

I really wished that I’d explore Naga when I was there. There are a lot of food establishments and it’ll be nice sana if I was able to try as many. But I look forward to my next trip and hopefully will try the 2 you mentioned. Thanks for sharing!

Nagutom ako. After reading your post, I’m now keen in putting chocolate to my oatmeal. I’m sure lasang champ-o-rado na rin sya, d b? The Dilis? Hmmm…I don’t think it will be in my menu for the next two months. Wala daw muna maalat sabi ni doc.
