The daily sight of mosques
This is one of the mosques that I see everyday. This accommodates one of the many male Muslims that regularly pray. Normally, the females pray in a private (prayer) room. Although there is plenty of mosques in the UAE, it is still not enough and/or not strategically located to accommodate the population. Hence, those praying near and by the beach is also a daily sight for non-Muslims like me.
The mosques may come in different colors and structure, but the crescent moon over there stays quite the same. And yes, today is the (Muslims’) Prophet Muhammad’s birthday.
This is my entry for this week’s photo hunt (theme: daily).
i love the architecture of mosques. this one has lots of details and it shimmers at the sunshine. beautiful.
i wouldn’t mind seeing mosques on a daily basis too. their structures are fascinating-inside and out.
we’ve toured bendar seri begawan before and have been inside a sultan’s mosque that’s made of amazing materials from the rest of the globe–gold from brunei, chandeliers from austria, rugs from mid east, narra doors from PI (at least may contribution tayo!) ..they have 24-hour AC too!

I remember in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia where mosques are so many they’re within a kilometer of each other. During calls for prayer, the collective sound was really in high decibels. With so much petro-dollars, I’m sure even the UAE can afford to build a lot.

They have this Abu Dhabi Plan 2030 and it includes building more mosques.

In general, that’s not allowed. But there’s a grand(est) public mosque which is widely visited by the tourists. I hope to visit soon.

I think it’s possible dun sa public mosque for tourist. Not sure if pwede sa mga regular mosques.
