Bigby’s Cafe and Restaurant

Bigby's Ticky Wacky Salad

(Ticky Wacky Salad: a crunchy salad treat with tomatoes, yellow mango, grapes, walnuts, cheese, croutons and lettuce.)

Each time I am going home for a vacation, I have my list of food to eat and establishments to visit. But since my short stay timed with the Holy Week, I reconsidered and only had Bigby’s and Razon’s (for the halo halo) in my mind. It’s really good news that Bigby’s now has a branch in Metro Manila. The one in (SM Megamall) Atrium was reasonably sized and travel-themed just like the branches in Cagayan de Oro, Bacolod and other cities in VizMin. The staff even dress like an explorer. Since it was Lent, we were a little tamed on our indulgence and ordered a salad and a pasta. They offer big servings, hence, the restaurant’s name.

Bigby's Deep Sea Pasta

(Deep Sea Pasta: garlic shrimps and rich crab fat sauce on spaghetti noodles that’s served sizzling hot.)

Had it not been Lent, I probably would have not ordered the deep sea pasta because I am generally not a pasta person. But wow, it was very good that until now I am still craving for it. I even asked a family member to do an actual replication (and hopefully to learn it) so that I can have it here in UAE. But other activities got in that we were not able to try it.

Can I just say that I found an added favourite? :D

Me and some of my childhood friends will go to Megamall next weekend. I hope I’ll be able to encourage them to try Bigby’s. I noticed the Atrium the last time I was there. I can’t even remember when it was constructed. :)

It would be worth the try. I first noticed the improvements in Atrium since December 2008 and it’s continuously improving.

the food is one of the things that either make or break a vacation, isn’t it?

I was at Bigby’s Torres (Davao City) last week and found the food good and the service fantastic. The Deep Sea Pasta intrigued me, as well, but I wasn’t hungry that day so I opted for the Boomerang Shrimps (which were also good). The strawberry shortcake was to die for!

I’ll take note of the strawberry shortcake!
