Blog anniversary and birthday giveaway

(A thousand photos were taken but only a few made it to the special prints. Are we on the same boat?)
Hello everyone!
I know I’ve been quiet lately and I thank those who continuously drop by to say hi in your own ways. For those who asked, no, I was not traveling (yet) but I’m so consumed by responsibilities on and off-work. But all in all, I’m doing good. Since my favorite month has arrived, let’s talk about growing up and gratitude. I’m holding a blog anniversary and birthday giveaway as I’m traversing my 4th year of blogging; nonetheless it still feels like that first day when I blogged as if no one was reading. At the same time, I’m turning 32 over a week from now and it (always) feels like I’m in my early 20s and that life has just begun.
In the several years of blogging and awe-inspiring discoveries in life, I’ve taken a lot of photos and accumulated a multifold of memories wherein no photo was involved. With all the camera clicks, one of the simple things that I’ve been meaning to do for a long time is to finalize/submit the photobooks I’ve started (some are meant to be given as presents). And I thought it is an agreeable idea to share two (2) Photobook Philippines’ vouchers worth P4,000 each. In principle, I would like to imagine sharing a scene with two charming readers (either miles away or not) doing the photobook layout and customizing the other details at our own paces (with the use of the free software). And there’s no rush, we have until February 28, 2012 to redeem the vouchers. So, we can be meticulous at this point!
How to join the giveaway?
Simple rule: let’s have fun and get to know each other better!
1. Please leave a comment on this post and share with me/us your birthday (feel free to include your birth year and other trivial details about any of your birthday celebrations or the day that you were born).
2. Given a chance, which photos are you going to include in the personalized photobook? Why?
Two winners are going to be selected based on the response provided. The contest is open to everyone until 17th July. The winners shall be announced on 19th July.

weee we have the same birth month and mauna lang ako sa iyo ng ilang araw
I want to join hehehe baka swertehen.
1) so july is my birth month too a dragon but just recently during our strat planning, i found out i’m a peacock hahaha. i usually celebrate my birthday before up until college. tinamad na. i guess i do hate celebrating my birthday kasi tag-ulan. Nung nag debut, i really cried so hard kasi all the preparations and planning nasira dahil umulan. I guess now i love my birth month now kasi my son is also a July baby.
2)naku ang dami kong picture na gustong ilagay sa photobook especially lahat ng mga shots ko on places, people, food. Pero cguro yung mga pictures ni Matthew ang unahin ko. I haven’t really organized his photos grabe talaga. Ang daming naka-save lang sa cd and hard drive at di pa na-print and your giveaway will really be a big help
Advance Happy Birthday Jo. God is really showering you with so much blessings in life. Stay Happy
Happy blog anniversary and advanced happy birthday! Congrats and long live, haha.
1) If there is anything in common between us is the love for photography, and the Photobook sounds like a lovely idea. I’m turning 33 on 2 December 1978! I share the same birthday as Britney Spears
2) Given the chance to chronicle my photos, I’d love to include what I took of my niece since she was a baby. It would be a nice memento for her to see when she’s all grown up!
If I could split the theme in half, I’d love to include my food photos too, which I’ve been taking for a while now. They won’t be the best, but I think I’ve improved their quality!
Thanks and enjoy your special days!
Happy Birthday Wits
I’d LOVE to join this contest.
1.) I was born on March 25,1981 (yep, just celebrated my 30th this year). Every year (for 9 years now) my husband gives me a “surprise” cake with candles at exactly 12 am on my birthday. I hope this tradition lasts until my 80th++
2.) I’ll use this photobook on our honeymoon trip to Batanes
So excited to see the photos printed
What a coincidence, i am celebrating a blog anniversary – my 5th on July 5. also am running a little giveaway that I hope you’d participate in.
My birthday is august 6 and i share it with artist andy warhol and penicillin discoverer Sir Alexander Flemming. but most of all i share it with gary valenciano (Yay!). I thought that was the coolest part about my b/day
happy birthday month! =)
I was born on a sweltering Sunday evening–March 4, 1984. My mom said she knew I was coming, so she did her makeup before going to the hospital. (Poise, poise.) Among the four preggy women having their labor on the same day, she was the first to finish!
As for the photobook, I’d like to put there little everyday things that remind me of the story of the moment I took a photo–where I was headed, whose art exhibit it was, why someone wasn’t smiling, how strong the typhoon was. I’d like to think of myself as a documentarist, hahaha.
Pasyal ako para greet lang: : )
Happy Blog Anniversary and Happy Birthday, Ms. Jo!!
happy birthday to us, I was born on July 22, 1981 year of the rooster and since 22 ang date of birth ko minsa I am cancer minsan leo and when the full moon comes nagpapalit ako ng anyo…joke lng un.
For the photobook, I want to print my parents wedding photos, they are old and in black and white. All I could do was to put it in a nice album to preserve it, if to print on a photobook, it would be a lovely present for my mom on her birthday on December 11 on her 64th birthday.
it’s your birth month! yihaa! here’s to participating your request:
1. i always celebrate my birthday at home with the family and only either a week or two weeks from my birthday that i choose to go to my favorite spots. with just last month, having a birthday trip in el nido remains as one of my favorite. if not the best.
2. for the photobook, ill place a photo of my camera. the gadget behind my photos.
advance happy birthday!
happy birthday wits!!!
ibat ibang emosyon for the photobook..
first i want to say it is so cool the way you put your counting of years. i am going to adapt the same thinking!
alright, now on to the contest.
1. i am 23 and i was born on october 3. i always celebrate my birthday on my blog and the birthday of my blog too which happens on the last week of february. my favorite birthday celebration happened when i was in high school. i did not want a party (i still don’t) but my family surprised me with one! the coolest thing about it was that looking back it was so obvious but i did not get it at all because i was so keen that i did not want a party. i was riding a van to and from school then and i had a lot of service-mates. they were not coming down in their houses and there were many explanations why. i did not mind though but when all of them went down my place, i was like, what is going on? i was really very surprised and my sisters were like, you were such an idiot. hahaha! this was really my favorite birthday.
2. for the photobook, i have loads of favorite photos but i think the first that i would put there is a photo of me and my man. it was taken almost eight years ago, during the first few months that we got together. how cool is that? looking at that photo and on the many photos that w have collected over the years feels amazing. i mean, it has been so long and i see us changing on the photos and here we are still together. very nice.
happy birthday to you dear!
congratulations and happy birthday!
1.) i don’t like my january 27 birth date. being born on the first month of the year means i get to grow old before anyone of my peers. mom said i was born in the afternoon, and that my older sister wasn’t too happy because there’s another baby in the house; she didn’t like washing the lampin daw. but as we grew older, my sister became my best friend and protector. we’re very close until today.
2.) i have so many photos, but since i love to travel, i’ll include photos from my travels especially my trips to Hawaii.
hey wits, happy blog anniversary and a happy-happy birthday to you. *hugs*
Hi Ms. Jo, I’m aki, I don’t know if you know me pro kilala mo cla ms. Ezra lapuz? office mate ko cla. Kaso resigned na din ako e. hehe.. Anyways, I’ve been reading your blogs eversince I saw it in Abu Dhabi Week. I’m a new blogger too, and I have lots of dilemma with regards to it, kasi feeling ko wla nmn ngbabasa, hehe. Pro I don’t care na din naman kasi I’m enjoying it. I’m just a blogger for almost 3 months p lng. You can visit my site, medyo boring nga lng… haha! Anyways, I want to join your contest..
1. My true nickname was “lucky” and I was called “Aki” kasi yung mga pinsan ko bulol kya “Aki” tuloy ung nakasanayan na nila. But my true nickname was “Lucky”. I was named lucky kasi I was born to have a consistent number “7″. My birthday was June 7, 1983. The day was “7″, I was 7 lbs when I came out of my mother’s womb, I came out also from her womb at 7:00 in the evening, my size I think was also “7″ and if you add my birthday numerical details it would came down to “7″ (e.g. June 7, 1983 = 6+7+1+9+8+3 = 34 = 3+4 = 7).
2. Given a chance for a photobook, I would love to have my family’s pics on page 1, page 2 would be my friends in the philippines and page 3 would be my friends in Abu Dhabi. This photobook shows how you manage to be independent from being with the family (in page 1) and being with your friends (in page 2) and it goes through how you became more independent when I worked abroad so it shows my friends in Abu DHabi (in page 3).
Thanks so much po and I’m really inspired by your blogs.
.. happy birthday to you and your blog wits.
My birthday falls on February, and I like it that way because many say those born on February are bright and intelligent. I hope it is true.
I always love the photos of my children, and for sure, photos of my family will be the major content of that photobook.
I actually joined already but don’t know why it was not published here. Happy Birthday Jo!
Advance Happy Birthday, Jo!
I am born on the year of the dragon, 1976 (making me 3 year senior than you) 18th September. My parents told me that during my birth year, the local child star then Nino Muhlach was such a hit, thus inspired them to name me after him. And since our family name sounds Spanish and holy, his name, according to them, fits to a T. I cannot contest, haha!
My fondest memories of birthdays were during childhood days. I used to celebrate it with my brother’s (he’s born Aug 30th) complete with costumes (most remarkable was he wore Robin, I was geared as Batman), fish ball and dirty ice cream carts lorded our tiny garage during those birthday parties.
2. Definitely, photos taken with my family. We’ll be going to Singapore by the end of August so memories and photos will be collected again!
1. my birthday falls on May 31. Rob and I share the same birthday!
as you know, there’s always something weird that happens on my birthdays trips. so for next yr, i’ll just stay home. para safe! haha
2. definitely the hardship parts of my travels. buwis buhay moments in the mountains and underwater! reminds me that I can do the impossible if I just push myself harder.
[...] to those who participated in my blog anniversary and birthday giveaway. It is still open until 17th of [...]
eto na jo! he he!
1. My birthday is September 5. Dati I hated being born in September. Parang boring. Gusto ko sana mga April or May. He he! But now, siempre, I love my birth month! Nothing special about my birthdate though, except that this year, it’s going to be a holiday in the US! he he!
2. I am dreaming of two photobooks. Dati ko pa actually gusto ito. I even had it canvassed na sa isang photo shop. The first one will contain my family, friends, and loved ones. It will be a collection of ALL the people, no matter insignificant, kahit di na kami nagkikita, who has made an impact in my life, those who have been a part of my life. The second one would of course be a collection of my travels.
i loved reading others’ comments. i learned a lot about out blogger friends!
Happy birthday, witsandnuts!
1) I was born on the 23rd of March. When I was a child, I always had to celebrate my birthday with a party. If I didn’t, I would think that only half was added to my age (e.g. since I didn’t have a party on my 9th birthday, I figured I was only 8½ years old). And from my 8th birthday until I was 11, whatever age I was, my dad had to give me that same number of gifts (8 gifts when I turned 8, 9 gifts when I turned 9, etc). It didn’t matter what they were, but I had to receive that many from him. Papa’s girl kasi kaya spoiled (hehehe).
2) My dear Mama turned 70 this year, so as a belated gift to her I would put all her special photos through the years in the personalized photobook. I’m sure she’d laugh and cry while reminiscing as she turns the pages.
Happy Birthday Wits!
I was born on the 30th of August. August is indeed a special month for the family since most of us born on this month, in fact my mom and hubby are having the same birth date.
In regards to photobook, I would love to have my daughter’s photo in it. The one taken after my delivery, It was my most precious time of my life. I used to have a high risk pregnancy. I had 3 miscarriage before this precious baby came. I’m very thankful to God for this blessing
Mazal tov to you and your blog!
I was born May 4, I share the same birthmonth with my father.
With the photobook, I would like to put all my pictures in Holy Land(Israel). Been wanting to organize it since i’m already here in the Philippines and before i’ll get busy with the baby soon.
Hi Ms.Jo. I am really thrilled that you posted this giveaway on your blog. So here…
1. My birthday is on March 2, 1987. For 24 years, I never experienced a birthday party with my dad. He works abroad and he comes home during September-November only. The good thing is we celebrate my birthday every November, as well as Christmas, New Year, graduation and all the others
2. Given a chance, I’d include these pictures n the personalized photobook:
1. Pictures with my dad because I have very few and I really treasure them. We don’t see each other often so our memories together are really precious.
2. Pictures of my preschool students because those kids remind me that there is still hope for the country. I’ve been teaching for 3 years and I am very fond of taking pictures of my students. When I reach old age, I will stare at those photos with a smile because I know that I lived my life worthwhile
happy birthday ms.jo! wish you all the happiness in the world
happy birthday to you. wala akong entry eh… pero interesado ako kung sino mapipili mo….
God bless
