Thanks to (couple) friends who brought and introduced me to this yummy purple yam cake (otherwise known as “dioscorea alata cake” >>> that being the scientific name and “ube cake” >>> that’s easier!) in my post-birthday celebration last weekend. Its mid layer is real ube halaya (purple yam) and a strand injected to the icing as well. I can’t believe that this rare find in Abu Dhabi has been out of my radar for too long. Better late than never.
