We were going to Marina Mall when we noticed that something new was cooking at the Cornice. There’s a lot of activities happening in the open area near the beach, but we just really had to drop by because a sand sculpture showcase in Abu Dhabi was a first as I can recall.

Palm Sunday in Abu  Dhabi
(Unlike the commercialized palaspas in the Philippines which are heavily decorated, palm leaves are distributed in Saint Joseph Church’s compound for free. It’s being blessed in its simple form or we’ve got to style it on our own. No one was watching, I picked a flower from a nearby tree at the church and used it to decorate my palaspas.)

Earth Hour 2011 Abu Dhabi

I was in the house during the Earth Hour prepping for our workweek. In particular, I was tuned in to a movie being shown on the television and had to switch it off because “it’s time”. Imagine being united with the rest of the world through a moment of enforced (yet willingly accepted) darkness? I noticed though that most of the neighboring buildings in my area were in full blast of lights on. :(

Big Boys Toys UAE

The luxury lifestyle exhibition Big Boys Toys in UAE will be hosted by Abu Dhabi and will run from March 16 to 19, 2011 in Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC). Zones will be categorized as drive, ride, off road, marine, aviation, digital, fashion, wellness, adventure, lifestyle and more. There will also be ladies zone (ugh, even without this ladies are also interested in some “boys’ toys”) music lounge and international village. Tickets are priced at AED 100 (silver), AED 250 (gold), AED 200 (silver season, for 3 days event), AED 500 (gold season, for 3 days event) – already sold out as of today, and AED 1,000 VIP (for March 16 event only). Children below 1 meter (height) may enter free of charge.
