We recently had lunch in Galler Chocolat-The. It’s not just the choco offering that brought me here (allegedly there are 365 kinds of chocolates in store), but also because it’s strategically situated. In Marina Mall, I think it got one of the nicest corners aside from La Brioche and the stairway restos Colombiano and Xpress Cafe.

While waiting for the food, it was entertaining to see how many people (and watching their beams) posed with this golden fish. I actually had my photo taken there also during my first month here.

The pricey grilled salmon

We both ordered grilled salmon. I don’t normally ‘copy’ orders, but there’s a limited selection of dishes with rice. I was too hungry and originally asked for mushrooms but I don’t think I can manage the dark rice with it. This grilled salmon was good enough to fill in my grumbling tummy, but there was nothing so special about it. Served with onion, tomato and sweet pork choy (pechay). So I found it real pricey. I’m assuming it’s either because there’s no much source of salmon nearby or I happened to have high standards of comparing it against salmon dishes back home especially those in General Santos (GenSan) and Davao.

Iced chocolate and fresh mango juice

Forget the fresh mango juice, it won’t satisfy you if you’re a true blooded Philippine mango lover. Iced chocolate is a must-try, that’s when the Galler mark comes in.

Homemade crepe with Galler dark chocolate syrup and fresh cream

This is the highlight of our meal. The moment I saw the crepes I thought of Pancake House (I terribly miss!). So far, the best crepe I’ve tasted in UAE! I asked the staff where I can get the ingredients to make something as smooth and soft like theirs, it’s homemade in Galler. And of course, the most integral part of this yummy crepe is the belgian dark chocolate syrup.
